The first positron emission tomography center in the south of Russia has started its work in Stavropol.
The first positron emission tomography center in the south of Russia began its work in Stavropol. The center is equipped with a positron emission tomograph (PET / CT) and a cyclotron-radiochemical complex, which makes it possible to produce the radiopharmaceutical necessary for the procedure. The investor was the company CJSC Agroindustrial Enterprise “SOLA”. The investment amounted to 1 billion rubles.
PET / CT – positron emission tomography combined with computed tomography – the most effective method for diagnosing cancer, which allows you to recognize malignant neoplasms from two millimeters. With its help, doctors are able to recognize oncological diseases at the earliest stage, including those neoplasms that cannot be detected in any other way.
“With the help of this research method and highly professional medical personnel,” says the head physician of the medical center Anna Grigorieva, “we can diagnose the disease at the earliest stages, which means we can increase the chance of a full recovery from a cancer patient.
Vladislav Muradkhanov, founder of the company, notes:
– We consider the nuclear medicine center built in Stavropol to be one of the most technologically advanced and ergonomic in the world. The cyclotron-radiochemical complex of this center is equipped with a powerful nuclear accelerator of the cyclotron type and is made in accordance with international GMP standards. The complex allows organizing the regular production and delivery of a radiopharmaceutical throughout the south of Russia.
