A new surgical building of the regional hospital was opened in Krasnoyarsk

On December 2, a surgical building of the regional hospital was opened in Krasnoyarsk. Patient appointments will start on December 3.

The new building consists of two operating blocks with 14 rooms, a diagnostic department, an emergency room, a canteen and a central sterilization department.

The building has 61 thousand m2, it has 8 floors. The new surgical building will receive one and a half times more patients per day and perform one and a half times more operations than the old building.

Today, in terms of the degree of equipment and technologies, it is the most modern beyond the Urals. The cost of building and equipping the surgical building is 7.4 billion rubles, of which 5.9 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget, and 1.5 billion rubles – from the regional budget.

All streams are divided by color depending on the severity of the incoming. All streams of patients are divided into three parts, and each of them is indicated by its own color. For planned patients, there is a green carpet, yellow for severe patients, and red for emergency patients. This method is already used in all new buildings of medical institutions and helps the medical staff to navigate as quickly as possible, just by looking at the floor.

On the ground floor, planned patients are received, there are also several examination and operating rooms for simple manipulations, as well as intensive care wards.

Each bed has mechanical ventilation devices, a monitor, defibrillators, suction systems for removing fluid from the mouth, there is also an ultrasound machine and everything for blood transfusion right in the office. Absolutely every ward has a nurse’s post to monitor the condition of patients around the clock.

The main operating rooms and wards for critically ill patients are located on the second floor.

In the operating rooms in the new building, air ventilation is arranged in a new way – sterile air will be constantly supplied there, which will prevent infection from entering the human body during surgery. A special method of ventilating operating rooms is now being used in Krasnoyarsk in the oncology center and cardio center, and now in the regional hospital.

But the main feature of the new surgical building, says the head of the operating department, cardiac surgeon Anton Shtark, is a hybrid operating room. This is a modern surgical table, thanks to which the surgical team can perform two operations at the same time. Most of the new equipment will be used for cardiac and vascular surgeries. So far, it is the only one in the whole of Russia.

There, on the second floor, there is a dialysis room, where there are devices for purifying blood from toxins. The most important is the ECMO apparatus, for extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, which helps to completely replace the functions of some organs, such as the heart or kidneys. There are several such devices in the hospital.

Emergency patients in ambulances will be delivered directly to the hospital doors: an ambulance can enter a special warm box along the ramp, so there is no need to roll a patient along a cold street. The box holds three emergency vehicles.
